Sketchy Thursday's & CR84FN: Flower Girl

Hi everyone,

Here is the last thing that I worked on over the weekend. I chose to scrapbook the flower girl, Faith from my dad and Mad's wedding. She was so cute and had such a busy day.

I chose to use a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays and a colour challenge from CR84FN. Check out the sketches below.

I liked the Sketchy Thursday Challenge because it allowed me to include a lot of photos of Faith at different times of the day. I was also able to include a lot of journalling. So overall, I was able to get a lot all onto one layout.

I loved using the butterflies on this layout because Faith is so flighty. These butterflies are from the Recollection Set from Michaels. I am totally in love with them and am sad because I am almost out of them.

I also love the three rows of ribbons. The next interesting thing that I did was ink the letters. I bought this cheap set of foam letters. This set has like 500 letters in it. So, it is definitely essential to change them up a bit. They came in pink but I didn't find the colour bright enough. But, I have a Tim Holtz ink which added some colour and really made the "Flower Girl" stand out.

I also inked the letters "Faith." They originally were white but they did not stand out enough. So, I made them blue. The last big part of the design was the journalling. Although hand journalling is also nice, because I was journalling so much, I decided to do it on the computer instead.

I also added cute little heart brads as Faith loved the whole day!

Hope you enjoy it!

Sketch Abilities #60 and The Color Room #87: Silly Sisters

Hi everyone,

Here is one of the projects that I completed this weekend. I chose to do both a sketch challenge and a color challenge. I used the colour challenge #60 from the Color Room.

I used a sketch from Sketchabilities.
I chose to scrap Mad's silly sisters. They had a hilarious time straightening their hair at the hotel before the wedding. Here is the layout...

I used some old flowers that worked well colour wise with Samantha's shirt in the photo and also with the colour challenge. I used some Tim Holtz distress inks for to add some colour to the flowers.

I also added some cool die cut leaves from my Silhouette SD.

Hope you enjoy!

Frosted Designs #29: Shoes

Hi everyone,

I did a bit of scrapping this weekend. Here is one of the projects that I worked on:

I decided to use a sketch from Frosted Designs

I chose to use pictures from Mad and Dad's wedding. Katie Bailey, the photographer, took some pretty interesting shots of some of their accessories. In this case, I chose to use the photos of their shoes as there was two photos and the title worked well with the sketch. Check it out below!

One of the new things that I did on this sketch was make an accordion flower. I used my Silhouette SD and it turned out pretty nice. I added a cheap button to finish the middle of the flower.

I love the way the title turned out for this page. I used my Silhouette SD to make a pennant and then added letters with pop dots from a pack from Zellers called Moonlight.

and another shot...

Finally, I finished the title with a cute bow that matches the ribbon that mad used to line her garter in the photo of her shoes.

I hope you all enjoy it!
